How do I identify the destination address for an Amazon shipment?

Shipping products from an overseas factory to an Amazon warehouse requires providing several important addresses. Here’s a quick rundown on how to fill them all out.

1. Origin Address - This is the address where your goods are coming from, such as the factory, warehouse, or overseas port.

2. Ship-From Address - This address is required by Amazon to assign you a warehouse on their platform. You can provide this address in Seller Central. However, Amazon may assign you a warehouse anywhere in the country, which can result in longer delivery times and higher costs.

To avoid this, you can try selecting an address near the port closest to where you are shipping from, such as the port of Los Angeles for shipping from China or the port of New York for shipping from Europe. This way, the warehouse you get will be closer to those ports, saving you money.

3. Destination: Amazon Fulfillment Center - The fulfillment center address that Amazon assigns you when creating your shipment plan becomes your destination for the overall shipment. You can choose it from the dropdown on the platform. If you don't see the destination you need, you can contact us to add it to our list.

4. Destination: Last Mile Delivery Warehousing - Last Mile Delivery Warehousing: If your shipment is going to multiple warehouses or its volume is less than one CBM, you can use a last-mile delivery provider such as UPS to handle the final leg of the delivery from the logistics provider's warehouse to the Amazon warehouse.

5. Consignor Address - This is the address of your supplier or factory in the origin country and should be added to your Shipment page after booking.

6. Consignee Address - This is the contact address for customs to use in case there are any problems with duties. You can use the Amazon warehouse address as the consignee address, if necessary. The consignee address must be in the country to which you're shipping.

Here’s some information about setting up an Importer of Record (IOR) in the US. Check with your logistics provider for requirements for imports to other countries.
