What does floor loaded mean?
Floor loaded refers to a method of loading boxes into a container without using pallets. The boxes are stacked directly onto the floor of the container.
Amazon considers floor loaded as loose, stacked boxes that weigh less than 50 lbs/ 23 kg and will be unloaded by hand. Floor loaded shipments that require extensive handling may be refused for safety reasons (e.g. boxes over 50 lbs/ 23 kg).
It's important to ensure that whoever is responsible for floor loading knows how to do it according to Amazon's requirements. For example, each box shipped to an Amazon fulfillment center, including units sent in a manufacturer box, must be identified with a shipment ID label.
Keep in mind that floor-loaded shipments may take longer for fulfillment centers to process (which can affect your products' availability for sale on Amazon and unloading times) and may also incur additional fees as it requires extra time and labor.
Other options for container stuffing when shipping FCL to Amazon FBA are for the supplier to palletize them at the factory or for the logistics provider to palletize them at the destination port.
