Can I search for multiple origins or multiple destinations?

Shipping from Multiple Origins

There are a few options for shipping from multiple origins:

If you have goods at two or more different factories in the same geographical area (i.e, in the same city), we recommend getting the factories with smaller cargo loads to send their goods to the factory with the largest cargo load. The receiving factory can then combine them into one shipment.

If you are shipping Free on Board (FOB), your freight forwarder will contact your factories to confirm the arrangements and the drop-off address at the origin port.

You can book your shipment online from one origin. After you complete your booking, we’ll connect you with your forwarder and you can request consolidation from them directly. Their pricing will depend on your shipment details, but you can try to negotiate with them.

If you go with this option make sure you book either an Air or Ocean Quote because Express carriers don't offer this service.

The other thing to be aware of is that each exporter of record must have their own commercial invoice, which will incur multiple customs clearance charges. To avoid this, you can request that one factory serves as the exporter of record and provides you with a single commercial invoice for all cargo. Once you’ve agreed to the price, the forwarder will add the charges to your Shipment Charges page.

Shipping to Multiple Destinations

We don't yet support online quoting for multiple destinations. If this is something you need, book your shipment to a single destination. We’ll connect you with the forwarder and you can ask them for multi-destination delivery.

Once you’ve agreed a price, the forwarder will add the charges to your Shipment Charges page.

To get a price estimate before you speak to the forwarder, run separate searches with one point of origin and one destination per search.

Again, book either an Air or Ocean Quote because Express carriers don’t offer delivery to multiple destinations.

However you book, be aware that insurance only covers the origin and destination that are initially booked. If there are any problems or issues with the additional pickups/deliveries, you can't file an insurance claim for that part of the journey.

We also highly recommend submitting a Custom Quote Request form to deal with a shipment with multiple origins or destinations. To read more about submitting a Custom Quote request please click here. Feel free to also reach out to our Customer Success team to help you submit this, either by live chat in our platform, or via email: succcess@freightos.com. Your request will be sent to all relevant forwarders to review, and hopefully provide a customized quote for your needs.
