How to book shipments using ULDs

How to book shipments using ULDs

Within your WebCargo account, you can now make searches for live rates and bookable capacity for ULD shipments. Follow the instructions in this article to find out how.

Important: currently, ULD shipments are only available for Air France KLM, IAG Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo, Qatar Airways Cargo, and Silk Way West Airlines.

First, expand the side menu and select New.

Then click on New Air eBooking.

Next, enter your origin and destination information, and choose your departure date and commodity type.

Choose the ULD option. You’ll then need to specify the number of units, the type of ULD, and the weight of the shipment.

Tip: In many cases, selecting the specific ULD type will automatically fill in the height and volume information.

If you need to add another unit, click on the Add units button.

Hovering above the “i” symbol will show you the maximum allowed capacity for the ULD device.

Max loaded: is the maximum KG and volume for the selected ULD type.

Empty Space: How much the ULD weighs and occupies without the contained shipment.

Max dimensions: the maximum dimensions supported inside the aircraft.

Once you’ve entered your ULD information, select the IATA number you will use to make the eBooking with, then click on Search flights and rates.

When your search results have loaded, the Total will be selected by default, to show you the total price for the ULD.

After your search results have loaded, follow the normal procedure to complete the eBooking. Select your rate, then you’ll be redirected to the review and book page, where you can see all the details related to your shipment.

To the right-hand side of the results, there is a section called Load information. Within this section, you can see the ULD type next to the Load, as well as the total shipment weight and dimensions.

Click on View more details to see the complete breakdown of shipment details.

Finally, hover above the “i” symbol next to the ULD within the row that contains Load to see the maximum allowed capacity for the selected ULD.

Important: Some airlines will need you to confirm that they can accept the ULD(s) for the eBooking to be accepted. Please make sure to check with the airline either pre- or post-eBooking.

The airlines that currently support ULDs are as follows:
