How to use the automatic AWB feature

How to use the automatic AWB feature

When making an eBooking, some airlines do not require you to manually enter an AWB number to book, as long as you have stock assigned to your IATA number.

In some cases, when finalizing your eBooking, WebCargo will communicate with the airline's system to check if you have stock associated with your IATA number. It will then retrieve your next unused AWB number.

In the other case shown below, you will automatically be assigned an AWB when finalizing your eBooking, meaning you do not have to have stock assigned to your IATA number.

Find out in this article which airlines are available for automated AWB assignments and how to use this tool.

How to use the automatic AWB stock feature

Follow the normal eBooking process through the New eBooking tab, make a search and select your rate

When you’re on the review and book page before confirming your eBooking, you’ll see a section called AWB number. If you have selected a rate from any of the airlines shown above, the AWB number box will show the option "Automatically generated".

You will then be able to click on Book this shipment without entering a number or having to use AWB stock.

Once Book this shipment is clicked, a call will be made to the airline's website. The airline will automatically and instantly supply your eBooking with an automatic AWB number, in turn helping you to secure your shipments even more quickly.

The AWB that has been used will show on the created eBooking within the eBookings tab.
