Generating Simulated Volume

This feature can be used when forecasted volume is needed to calculate contracted spend and simulate quoted spend at the tender level.

Volume is used to calculate total spend at shipment level. If no shipment is linked to a rate, no volume is available, and the total spend cannot be calculated.



The Volume Forecast feature allows you to simulate volume for lanes where no actual shipment data is available.



How to Use Volume Forecast in Your RFQ

To use this feature, go to the Rates tab in your RfQ initiation window and select the collection until you see Enhance Base Data. Enable this option to proceed.


The Volume Forecast option is only available if:

  • Shipment data exists, and,


  • The RfQ has been saved in Draft mode.




Once Enhance Base Data is enabled, an additional field for entering information will appear:


  1. Enter the shipment data timeframe.


  1. Click Create Data.


The creation process may take one to two minutes, depending on the amount of data.


Once the data has been generated, you can download the volume file to review it:


You also have the option to edit the file manually and upload it again.

After this, the volume forecast will be generated together with your actual volume.
