What are the Recommended Services?

The Recommended Services page is designed to remove the guesswork from freight booking. Based on your shipment details, you’ll be shown all services typically required, so your shipment moves forward without delays or surprises.

How It Works

For each service:

  • Toggle ON if you want to include it in your shipment (cost is added to your Quote).

  • Toggle OFF if you’ll handle it independently (we won’t include it in your Quote).

Insurance

  • Default: ON (We recommend taking insurance to cover any mishaps or problems that might happen along the way.)

  • Covers loss or damage in transit.

  • Toggle OFF if you already have your own insurance or are assuming full risk.

Customs Brokerage (and Bonds for US Imports)

  • Default: ON for international shipments: Customs brokerage is on by default for all international shipments. If you’re shipping to the US, you’ll also need to add a customs bond.

  • Required for customs clearance.

  • For US-bound shipments, a customs bond is also required. Choose between:

    • Single-entry bond

    • Annual bond

If you already have a broker or have previously purchased an annual bond, you can toggle the switch to the off position. If you want to purchase these services through our Sellers, leave the switch toggled on and we’ll include the cost in your final Quote.

Read more about the different bond options here.

Port Charges

If you’re shipping from or to a port, you’ll have to pay port charges.

  • Required for ocean shipments arriving at or departing from a port.

  • You can exclude this charge if your supplier will cover it.

Liftgate at Pickup or Delivery

  • A liftgate is needed if the pickup or delivery location lacks a loading dock.

You can update your shipment details directly from the Recommended Services page without restarting the search. Any changes will refresh your recommended services in real time.

Once ready, click “Confirm Services & Get Results” to view available Quotes.
