How do I file an insurance claim with xcover.com?
The insurance policy from xcover.com is a pre-negotiated, standardized cargo insurance policy. You can check the policy through the insurance certificate uploaded on your shipment page.
How do I make a claim?
To get started making a claim, go to xcover.com/claim. If you’re not already logged in, you’ll be prompted to log in to your account. If it’s your first visit to xcover.com, you need to verify your email. Just click on the link and once you’re logged in, fill out the online claim form to submit your claim.
If XCover needs any further information, their claims team will reach out to you, most likely via email. Just follow their instructions and keep an eye out on your emails to make sure you don’t miss anything that could hold up your claim.
Check the time limits for filing a claim in your here (Claims Reporting Condition section #12). Each scenario has a different limit so we recommend you start the claims process as soon as you know about the damage/loss.
What documents do I need to make a claim?
When filing your claim XCover may ask for the following:
A copy of the commercial invoice
A copy of the bill of lading/airway bill
Photos or videos clearly showing the damage to the cargo
The packing list
The claused delivery note/receipt, if available
Repair/replacement quotations and invoices if the goods are damaged
Carrier’s confirmation of missing goods
