How to Book Insurance

After completing your eBooking, you will see a new option to book insurance at the top of the eBooking Summary screen. To use this service, follow these steps:

1. Enter Commodity Information
   

1. The Commodity selected during the initial eBooking will already be pre-filled.

• If “General Cargo” is chosen, select the Sub-Commodity to provide more specific details about the shipment.
• Enter the value of the cargo that needs to be insured.
  

1. Retrieve and Review Insurance Quotes
   
   

• After filling in all required fields, the system will load and find an insurance quote, if available.
• If the selected Sub-Commodity is not eligible for insurance, a message will display: “Not available for this commodity.” You can find the list of commodities that are currently unavailable by clicking here. Please note that we hope to support additional commodities in the near future.

• Once the quote is retrieved, the insurance price will be displayed.
  
  

1. Enter Cargo Owner Details
   
   

• Enter the Cargo Owner’s address and name.

• Review the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Main Exclusions specific to your quote.

1. Confirm and Create the Policy
   
   

• To confirm the insurance booking and create a policy, click “Add to my eBooking.”

• You can book the insurance immediately after creating the shipment booking, or return to the eBooking summary anytime to complete the booking.
• An email notification with insurance details will be sent once the policy is created.
• Upon policy creation, a new “Insurance” tab will appear within the eBooking summary page. Here you can check insurance details, amounts, terms & conditions, and view the insurance certificate.

• An invoice will be sent to you by WebCargo’s finance team with Breeze in copy with instructions on how to pay Breeze for the cargo insurance.
  
  

1. Manage Insurance Changes and Cancellations
   
   

• Since the booked insurance cannot be edited, if there are changes to the shipment that affect insurance you will need to cancel and rebook the insurance policy.
• In order to cancel the insurance policy, select the Insurance tab, and then click the red cross to cancel. You will receive an email notification to re-book the insurance. Bear in mind that if it’s less than 24 hours before flight departure, you cannot cancel the insurance policy.

• If you’re within the permitted time frame and cancel the insurance policy, the action cannot be undone, and you cannot re-book the insurance with the original eBooking.
