Searching for freight rates on Freightos.com is quick and easy. Just follow the steps below to get started.

1. Origin

After logging into your Freightos.com account, begin by selecting your origin type from the dropdown menu:

  • Factory/Warehouse – All load types allowed

  • Business address – All load types allowed, but a loading dock is required

  • Port/Airport – Loose cargo only

  • Residential address – Loose cargo only

Next, choose the origin country and enter the zip code or city. Then, click Confirm.

  • A green checkmark means you're good to go

  • A red error icon will highlight any missing or invalid information.

2. Destination

Destination types include:

  • Port/Airport

  • Warehouse

  • Fulfillment center

  • Residential address

  • Last mile delivery (e.g. UPS or Amazon FBA)

Just like the origin, select the country and enter the zip code, city, or Amazon warehouse code, then hit Confirm.

3. Load

This section defines what you’re shipping. You can select either:

  • Loose cargo (boxes, crates, or pallets)

  • Containers (20’, 40’, etc.)

Loose Cargo

You can calculate your load by:

  • Total shipment (less accurate)

  • Specific units (recommended for accuracy)

If your load is over 15 CBM, you'll also see FCL (Full Container Load) quotes, which might be more cost-effective.

Pallets

  • Enter the number of pallets

  • Choose a pallet type or enter dimensions manually

  • Use imperial or metric units

  • Include the weight

Boxes

  • Enter the number of boxes

  • Add length, width, height, and weight for each

If shipping multiple pallets or boxes, you’ll need to enter details for each one.

Containers

For containers:

  • Enter the quantity and type (e.g. 20’, 40’, overweight)

  • Multiple containers must be entered separately

  • Containers cannot be shipped to or from:

    • Residential addresses

    • Airports

    • Businesses without a loading dock

    • Last mile warehousing locations

Mixed Loads

You can mix different load types—like boxes and pallets—in one quote. However, you can only combine containers with other containers.

To add multiple loads:

  • Click + Add Another Load

  • Enter the new details

  • When all loads are entered, click Confirm

Finish by clicking Complete, then proceed to the final section.

4. About Your Goods

In this final step:

  • Enter the declared value of the goods in USD, GBP, or EUR

  • Indicate if the shipment contains hazardous materials (HAZMAT)

Note: HAZMAT shipments are only available through a Custom Quote Request. Learn more about submitting a request here.

Then, provide your estimated goods readiness date:

  • Ready for pickup

  • Ready within two weeks

  • Ready in more than two weeks

It’s okay to enter an estimate—the forwarder will confirm the final date with your supplier after booking.

Click Done, then the blue arrow to move on to the Recommended Services page.
