Can I ship hazardous materials (HAZMAT) on Freightos.com?
Shipping hazardous materials (HAZMAT) that contain lithium ion batteries, standalone batteries or any other types of HAZMAT shipments can only be shipped via a Custom Quote Request. To learn more about how to submit a Custom Quote Request please click here.

Any accepted PI 969 or PI 970 lithium-ion batteries must be accompanied by one of the following UN codes
Li-Ion Batteries - UN 3480
Li-Ion Batteries (contained in equipment) - UN 3481
Li-Metal Batteries - UN 3090
Li-Metal Batteries (contained in equipment) - UN 309
HAZMAT shipments require a Material Safety Data Sheet, and may incur additional handling fees or alternative routing as not all ports service restricted commodities. Battery inspection charges may also apply.
