How do I import to US Amazon warehouse if I'm not based in the US?

How do I import to US Amazon warehouse if I'm not based in the US?

If you are shipping to Amazon in the US but are not based there, you have two choices:

  1. Ship without an EIN

  2. Get an EIN/RS tax ID

We recommend you ship without an EIN. Click the foreign importer checkbox at the bottom of our FBA Bookings page to see Quotes from logistics providers that can help you ship as a foreign importer without needing an EIN.

If you opt to get an EIN/RS tax ID, and call the IRS, ask for a confirmation email/fax to prove you are associated with the EIN. If you don’t ask directly, they’ll put the form in the mail and it could take several weeks to get to you.

Be aware that Amazon will not serve as your foreign Importer of Record (IOR), although you can use their address as your consignee address so you won't need to get a US mailing address.

If you are shipping to the UK, you need an EORI number.
