How do I know which destination type to choose?

Similar to choosing your origin type, you have a number of different options when selecting your destination. If you’re new to freight, it could be hard to know which is the best for you. We’re here to help you make the right choice.

On Freightos.com, we provide a number of different destination options including:

Warehouse
Port/Airport
Fulfillment center
Residential
Last-mile delivery warehousing
Multiple destinations (custom quote)

Here's a quick explanation of destination types you might be less familiar with.

Fulfillment center:

If you’re an Amazon FBA seller, this is likely the best destination option for you.

The fulfillment center is a warehousing option managed by Amazon where they can store, re-pack (label and palletize), and ship your goods to the final destination.

Last-mile delivery warehousing:

This could be a great destination option if:

  1. You need a place to store your goods once they arrive.

  2. You’re an Amazon FBA seller but due to Amazon’s limited space and units, you might choose to deliver your shipment to an alternate warehouse to store your goods (instead of splitting your goods between multiple destinations).

Multiple destinations:

If you decide to select Multiple destinations as your destination type, you’ll have to submit a Custom Quote. But don’t worry, it’s simple. After you run a search, you’ll be prompted to fill in a form with your shipping details and submit your request.

So, why would you choose this option? Here are some reasons:

  1. If you have goods shipping from one origin, but to multiple customers at different locations, this is a great option.

  2. If you’re an Amazon FBA seller, you know that often Amazon has limited space and units, so you might need to split your goods between an Amazon warehouse, last-mile delivery warehouse, or even your home.

  3. If you’re an Amazon FBA seller, you might be shipping your goods to different destinations throughout the country.
