How to add local charges

How to add local charges

Having set up your services, sales profiles, and suppliers, you're now ready to incorporate local charges into your WebCargo account.

Firstly, ensure that your sales profiles, services, and suppliers are all set up. With these prerequisites in place, you can proceed to add local charges.

To access the Local charges page, expand the side menu and click on Rate management.

Then click on Local charges to expand the drop-down menu and select Local charges, as shown below.

Here you can find a list of all the local charges previously entered into the system. Click on the Add local charge to start adding new charges, then complete the fields that appear.

Specify the applicable details for your local charge, including whether it concerns the origin or destination, and select the country it applies to (this field is mandatory). Additionally, identify specific airports and airlines, relevant services you have created, and any branches where the charge is applicable.

You can also choose the service that you had previously created.

To get an in-depth explanation of the different sections of the local charge form, click here.

Next, you’ll need to select the validity date, if there is one. If the local charge has no expiration date, click the No expiration date box.

You’ll then find a dropdown called Type of price, offering six different options. These consist of Fixed Price and those that are not fixed price, or rather are variable.

Fixed price should be selected when adding a local charge that is considered either a flat fee per shipment (e.g AWB), or a fixed per KG rate. Fixed price is selected by default.

For Import XLS - Price per, or other Types of price, you will need to import an XLS file depending on your calculation basis. These types of prices are by breakdown, kilometre, mile, zip code, or per zone.

To find out more about the difference between fixed and variable pricing, read this article.

Once you select any of the Import XLS options, the Weight Breaks and Excel file fields will appear, as well as the example of the template. On the right-hand side, you’ll find the Download template button. Click here to download and fill out.

Select Choose file to upload the template once you have filled in the necessary information.

Find the Excel file with the data inside and click on it to upload. Make sure you have picked the correct template for the upload option you’ve selected. Then click Save.

The local charge added should now appear on the list of local charges and is ready to be used for quoting.
