Reporting on Rate Validity: Active Rates/What you See (an Overview)

This is an overview on generating and downloading reports on the validity of rates, using the "What you see" function in the WebCargo network. This is filtered by Global Reports, GSA's, Airlines, and the Status of Rates. For the purpose of visibility of rates and the need to distinguish between rates currently on offer and those already expired, it is important to have a clear idea of how we display this selection inside the tool. Read on to learn more.

  1. How Does Reporting on Rate Validity Work? Looking for Buy Rates.

*Understanding Colour Classifications

Rates are divided into the categories of "Up to Date/Expire Soon/Expired/Never Seen" and are colour coded to make them easy to distinguish. To begin your report, enter the rates section under global, select the country you wish to display. You'll see General/Promo/Contract Rates.

Enter under Global -> Active Rates -> Buy Rates to see what a generic search produces in terms of "expired rates" in this case.

This reports on all airlines per country on the validity of rates. This is our first layer of filtering.

It's easy to filter rates by expiration using the status, filter. Additionally, we can filter using "SHOW ONLY EXPIRED RATES OR RATES THAT WILL EXPIRE SOON or SHOW EXPIRED RATES FOR MORE THAN MONTHS" by applying a check in the corresponding boxes then by adding a click -> Search.

(I) Global -> Active Rates -> Buy Rates

(II) Global -> Active -> Other Rates

This is the alternative workflow to search for (Panalpina Rates) MSR, and ITP Rates.

2. How to Filter Rates by Country: China

Let's follow through with the example of China, where the special case of "Co-Loader Rates" are applicable. We've made sure to enter under China, by selecting CN as a country, next to the Settings Icon.

Go to Global -> Active Rates -> Other Rates -> China

Here we'll see how the filters applied are by Country, Rate Type, and Date, from Closest Expiration to Longest Expiration. Here is where we start to see the addition of Co-Loader rates appear.

3. Applying more Filters: Filter by GSA

Under the Tools -> What you See tab, you can filter by GSA, and display Co-Loader + GTW Rates, and see that the corresponding "sent by" status is Co-Loader.

FYI: Take note of the filters offered as: "Include NON IMPORTANT/SHOW ONLY EXPIRED RATES OR RATES THAT WILL EXPIRE SOON/INCLUDE NEVER SEEN". Select these by simply clicking the corresponding box.

4. Generating/Downloading Your Master Report

It's simple to download your report in excel format. After applying the filters you need, enter Tools -> Downloads -> Download Options -> Co-Loader to generate a filtered Report, or Tools -> Downloads -> Download Options -> Master to generate a Master Report. It'll show you the GSA, Airline, Rate Type, Date, and allow you to choose the action you want to take. FYI: The option for downloading a "GTW or Surcharge(s)" report is accessible by following the same workflow.
