What is the Key Event feed?

Key Events is Terminal’s stream of real‑time operational signals - curated, route‑level alerts about disruptions and structural shifts that can impact your shipments. We combine our own internal data with third‑party APIs, carrier websites, industry publications, and user‑submitted reports to surface what matters, when it matters.

What you’ll see:

You’ll get context on events like blank sailings, GRIs, strikes and labor actions, severe weather, equipment shortages, capacity shifts, policy changes, port closures, and more. Each event includes a clear description and is tied to the specific lanes it affects, so you can quickly judge impact.

Where it appears:

Key Events show up on the right side of the dashboard; select the bell icon (top right of the dashboard) to open the feed. They are displayed contextually alongside your reports and saved lanes. Once you’ve set up trade lanes in My Routes, you’ll see relevant events right next to those routes- no digging required.

How teams use it:

  • Stay ahead of operational risk and reroute proactively.

  • Adjust pricing posture and communicate changes with customers.

  • Inform procurement, budgeting, and service advisories with live market context.

Availability:

Access varies by plan: Free plans see a limited set of events; Individual Starter shows the Top 3 events per lane; Enterprise includes the full feed.
