How to book using allotments

If you have negotiated rates for allotments with an airline, you can now use these rates to book with from your account.
The allotment feature is key for freight forwarders who need to create regular scheduled shipments, with fixed quantities of cargo, with an airline. If you have negotiated a special price with an airline, these rates will show within the live rates option through a direct API connection with the airline database.

Keep reading to find out how to use your own negotiated prices on WebCargo.

In order to see the options for allotments, first make a search by clicking on the New eBooking tab. Enter your cargo details and then click on Search flights and rates.

Choose your rate

If you have an option for an allotment available, this will show up in the search rate results within the rate card, as well as next to the airline logo. This is identifiable with an “A” symbol.

Bear in mind that if there is a cheaper option with the airline offering allotments, these will appear first. If you see the A symbol next to the airline logo but no allotment results in the direct results, hover above the A symbol. This will trigger a pop-up that will allow you to see the allotment options for the upcoming days.

Clicking on the blue See all rates button will open all the available allotment options for the next 5 days.

Click on the rate card to expand the information.

Follow the instructions to complete the eBooking by clicking on the blue button with the price inside. Hovering above this will convert the button to a Select button.

Clicking on it will take you to the review and book page. Here is where you can check your booking details before completing the booking. Within the Itinerary section, the type of shipment as Allotment will be visible.

If you’ve selected an allotment rate, this will also be identifiable just before completing the eBooking stating “This is an allotment shipment.” Check the shipment details, enter the AWB number then click Book this allotment shipment.

Managing your allotment eBooking

Once your booking is complete, you can find it within the My eBookings tab. Clicking on the allotment booking will give you a breakdown of the shipment and will include a section that states Allotments.
