Effectively handling your ocean freight templates is key to maintaining smooth logistics and precise quoting. The Tariff Manager on WebCargo Ocean offers a detailed solution for this, enabling you to upload and manage both FCL and LCL templates seamlessly. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of filling in these templates within the Tariff Manager, ensuring that you can upload, review, and update your content efficiently and accurately.
The Pre-carriage and On-carriage tabs will allow you to upload linehauls that are applicable to the mainleg. Please note that applying linehauls to the mainleg can only be done by using the Freightos template.
Click on the Common Charges tab where you can add Charges for each Origin-Destination (O-D) pair and carrier. The system will then automatically apply the defined charges to the appropriate services based on matched conditions with Mainleg rates, such as validity dates, commodity, carrier, container type, and country O/D pairs.
Common Charges can also be applied to mainleg rates with specific contracts, in this case defining a contract on the Common Charges tab will be applied to rates under the Mainleg tab which also have the same contract specified.
When a charge is already defined in the Mainleg tab, this will take precedence over the common charge. In the example below, the BAF charge defined in the Mainleg tab will be prioritised over the BAF charge created in the Common Charges tab.
The Freightos template allows you to easily upload different Units of measure (UOM) for each different surcharge. In addition to the standard Per container, the units supported are Per percentage, Per TEU and Flat.
For LCL files, different Units of measure are also supported when uploading rates:
W/M (Weight/Measure) - default UOM
CBM (per cubic meter) - main and charges
TON (per 1000 kilograms)
MAX between TON or CBM - only for main Freight
Per Unit (per box or per pallet)
Per percentage - no currency; requires calculation base - based on main freight
FLAT (flat per shipment)
All the current UOM will be calculated with a volume ratio of 1cbm:1000kgs.
For LCL files, Common Charges will work in the same way as for FCL files.
