How to quote in a different currency

How to quote in a different currency

Your quotation currency, by default, will be in the currency of your logged-in country. For example, if you’re in the UK, the currency shown on the quotation is pound/Sterling.

You’re able to change the quotation currency of the price shown in the results and the quotation before searching, as well as add a specific exchange rate if you have negotiated one elsewhere.

Important: This option is only available for Professional and Enterprise pack types.

To do this, firstly go to the Air tab. You’ll then see filters on the left-hand side, one of which is Currency. Select the currency from the dropdown menu.

A pop-up will appear with an exchange rate showing. This is the live exchange rate which comes directly from the third-party currency exchange website, Open Exchange, and is updated approximately every 5 minutes.

If you have a negotiated exchange rate, you can choose to edit the rate shown.

Click Save after changing the rate. Continue to create your quotation and the rate will be reflected in the selected currency with the exchange rate applied.

Change the rate again by clicking on the Exchange button just above the currency dropdown.

Important: if you add your own exchange rate, the automated exchange rate will stop updating. In order to remove added custom exchange rates, click on the circular arrow symbols located above the static rate results.

Change the exchange rate when saving your quote

Edit the exchange rate after you when saving your quotation. Look for the Totals column.

At this stage, you can also edit the Applied exchange rate. This will either be the current market exchange rate (if you did not change it beforehand) or the exchange rate entered earlier. You can change this rate again. Enter your rate, then click on the Save button.

Important: bear in mind that if you apply a custom exchange rate to a quotation which is then duplicated later, this rate will apply to the new quotation. In order to apply a new exchange rate, enter it again as shown above when creating the new quote.
