How to set your weight and dimension preferences

How to set your weight and dimension preferences

You can set the weight and dimension preferences you use for booking frequent shipments, so they are always applied when making a search for live rates and capacity. This means you won’t have to enter this information over and over again.

You can choose your weight preferences by the box or total shipment. Bear in mind this is a personal user setting, so admins and super admins cannot control other users' preferences.

Find out in this article how to use this tool.

First, open the side menu, then click on New Air eBooking. Alternatively, click on the New Air Booking button located at the top of the screen.

When entering your cargo information, you’ll find a section called Shipment details where you can specify to calculate the shipment by boxes or by the total weight. You can also enter the weight and dimensions of your shipment and specify whether the shipments are turnable or stackable.

To set your search preferences, whichever way you calculate your weights, click on the Preferences button located in the top right-hand corner of the Shipment details section.

Here you can add your preferences to search by boxes, such as if you'd like all boxes turnable or stackable, how the dimensions of the shipment should be calculated (CM, IN), the weight, (KG or LB), and if the weight should be per unit or as a total.

You can also do the same when setting your preferences by Total shipment.

Tipby default, the weight and dimensions will be based on the country you’re logged in as. For example, if in the UK, you will see pounds and inches.

Saving your preferences for boxed shipments

If selecting Calculate by boxes you can set your preferences by Dimensions (CM or IN)Weight per (unit or as total shipment), the Weight measurement (KG or LB) and specify whether all units are All turnable or All stackable.

Once you’ve entered your preferences, click Save. When making a search these preferences will now always, by default, be selected.

Saving your preferences for the total shipment

If you normally calculate your weight and dimensions by the shipment total, click on the Preferences button again. This will open the same pop-up with different fields.

You can choose to save your preferences as the Total value (CBM or CFT) or Total weight measurement (KG or LB), select whether the shipment is turnable and stackable, and specify more about the weight limits and sizes.

Click Save once you’ve entered your preferences. These values will, by default, now be applied every time you make a search for live rates and capacity.

How to revert to default weight and dimensions

If you want to revert to the system defaults, you can click on the Preferences button, and then click on the Restore default options text. This option will only appear if you had previously made changes and saved them.

Once clicked, the default options will reapply. A message will show on the screen confirming this.
