The goods ready timeframe gives your freight forwarder a rough estimate of when your supplier will be ready.
If you're shipping from a factory, the goods are considered ready when they are manufactured, packaged, and ready to go.
If you're shipping from a port, the goods are considered ready on the day your cargo will be moved to the logistics provider for handling the international leg.
What you must pay attention to is the Quote expiration date.
If your cargo is gated-in at the origin port after this date, your forwarder may need to adjust the price, and you may end up paying more than you expected.
When booking your shipment, all you need to do is specify if your goods are ready, will be ready within two weeks, or will be ready in over two weeks. The freight forwarder will contact your supplier after booking to confirm the goods ready date and arrange pickup.
